Smoky quartz is my partner in magic. Almost more than any other stone – and that’s a huge statement for me to make! Some say the reason it has its smoky color is that when it was formed, it absorbed and trapped all the negative energies from the world around it. Smoky quartz is a protective and grounding Root Chakra stone that absorbs and transmutes negative energy and purifies your aura. It’s your gem version of a best friend.
Rutilated quartz is a transformation stone. It can draw change to your environment, change to yourself, and change to your relationships. It attracts and reflects change and can help you handle the transformation with grace and calm. Each line of rutile carries a message that can be revealed in meditation. Often these messages are about the next steps on your journey. Rutilated quartz activates the Solar Plexus Chakra, giving you a lightning bolt of courage to make changes as needed and increasing your manifestation power. This crystal is particularly useful for shadow work and transformation of the mind.

Rutilated smoky quartz is easily my absolute favourite stone. My obsession means I snap up every piece I can of this hard-to-come-by stone – so 2 large pieces from this offering came home. Both chunks I got are wonderful – one is more cairngorm dark with lots of rutile and points galore, while the other is a very large manifestation point amongst smaller points, lighter in colour with some rutile. Came back to buy more and sold out! Drats! My only regret is I did not buy every single piece available!
