The legend of White Buffalo Calf Woman is an integral component of the spiritual practices of numerous Native American nations. White Buffalo Calf Woman appeared to the Lakota people about 2000 years ago, during the time of famine. The holy woman taught the Lakota seven sacred ceremonies and showed them how to pray. She taught the people how to steward the land and animals, and the ways of food provision. White Buffalo Calf Woman also gave the Lakota Chanupa, the sacred ceremonial pipe, also called Chanupa or C’anupa. Having guided the people towards higher truth, White Buffalo Calf Woman transformed into the sacred white buffalo and left the Lakota with a promise to return.

This beautiful candle was lovingly hand-rolled right here at Sage Goddess Headquarters with sheets of French blue, pale yellow, and white beeswax. It’s wrapped in custom Sage Goddess artwork and anointed with my Chanupa Perfume, with notes of patchouli, tobacco absolute, and palo santo essential oils. It’s also infused with an obsidian chip stone for protection, cleansing, and healing. Burn this candle to clear your space before your ritual work.
