Tarot reading is the practice of divining wisdom and guidance through a specific spread (or layout) of tarot cards. The tarot isn’t just about telling your fortune, and you definitely don’t have to be psychic to read cards. There are 78 cards in a deck – 22 cards of the Major Arcana, which hold big-picture spiritual lessons, and 56 Minor Arcana cards representing the day-in, day-out challenges we face. The cards are meant to provide insight into the innermost truths of your higher self. In other words, the cards offer an evolved awareness of what you already know deep within. It also magnifies wealth and influence. The Greeks named selenite after the moon goddess Selene, who has the power to awaken intuition and bring psychic visions and vivid dreams.
